This unit provides students with the knowledge and skills in the application of advanced hearing device technology. Topics include non-linear and programmable hearing aids, compression, selection programmes for multiple memory hearing aids, and product comparison. The unit also covers selection, evaluation and training in devices for the profoundly deaf adult including cochlear implants, tactile aids and assistive listening devices. 

Lectures and labs: 1 lecture per week/tutorials/self-paced assignments & seminar series featuring professionals from audiology and the hearing aid industry
