Advanced Clinical Audiology 611

This unit focuses on the assessment and management of complex clients and related issues with first semester focussing on adults and second semester on paediatric clients. Once a hearing loss is confirmed (Basic Clinical Audiology 512), the next step is to determine the site of lesion, possible treatments and a management plan. This unit prepares the audiologist with specialised audiometric techniques and management strategies. It also enables the audiologist to work as part of a management team in neonatal, paediatric and educational settings, and within the deaf community. Also emphasised is tinnitus management, and tinnitus assessment and treatment.
