Associates of the Master of Clinical Audiology program
Our course has contributions from a large range of Lecturers, including UWA staff and professionals from Perth and across Australia. Apart from UWA staff, there are some others who have played a major role in the development of the UWA Audiology Course.
Ms. Peta Monley of iHear Australia has been our Clinical Co-ordinator. iHear has provided UWA Audiology with clinical sites for intensive teaching and clinical tutorials for students in a private audiological setting. (See a photograph of Peta in the photographic gallery).
Ms. Helen Goulios/Middleditch and Mr. Peter Howes, past State Managers of Australian Hearing, have supported the course greatly in its first years.Helen has also played a major role as a Lecturer and consultant, now in a private capacity. Australian Hearing continues to play a major role in lecturing and student clinical supervision, with lectures from Barbara Gell, and in the past from Mike Kouwen and others.
Ms. Pam Gabriels is director of Western Hearing Services. Pam has practised Audiology since 1977 and has developed a professional interest in Tinnitus over the past fourteen years. While running the largest private Audiological practice in Western Australia, Pam has presented lectures and workshops at major conferences in Australia, Europe and North America, and also to our Audiology course. Pam's interest in the assessment and management of tinnitus has led Western Hearing Services to become a leader in this field. Pam consults clients at the Perth and Nedlands clinics and visits all sites each week. She was also the driving force behind the Seventh International Tinnitus Seminar that took place in Fremantle in March 2002, in collaboration with the audiology course at UWA.
Thanks to Widex Australia, including Mr. Geoff Dickson and Mr. Ian Mawby for sponsoring our student research program.
